« Back to Glossary Index
An air conditioning system that operates without traditional ductwork. Also known as a mini-split AC, it consists of an outdoor compressor/condenser unit and one or more indoor wall-mounted (or ceiling) air-handling units. Each indoor unit provides cooling (and sometimes heating) to its room, making it ideal for additions or spaces where ducts aren’t feasible. The outdoor and indoor units are connected by a small refrigerant line.
