Flexible Air Intake

« Back to Glossary Index

A flexible intake duct or plenum that allows adjustable placement of the fresh air intake. For example, some HVAC air handlers offer a flexible connection for the outside air intake, enabling installers to position the intake opening in different orientations or locations. This can be useful when rigid duct routing is difficult. A corrugated or flexible duct section can adapt to confined spaces while still bringing in outside or return air for the system.
