Single and Multi-zone Compatible
« Back to Glossary Index
Terms describing an HVAC system’s configuration options. A single-zone system pairs one outdoor unit with one indoor unit (providing one climate zone). A multi-zone system connects one outdoor unit to multiple indoor units, each serving a different zone or room. Many ductless mini-split systems offer both modes: a single-zone outdoor unit for one indoor head, or a multi-zone outdoor unit that can support 2–5 indoor heads. Being compatible with both means the product line can be used in either setup, offering flexibility for different home layouts.
